PSE crews have sealed the gas leak that closed the northern portion of East Lake Sammamish Parkway this morning. The Parkway now has one lane open, with northbound and southbound drivers taking turns with the help of flaggers. Work crews estimate traffic will remain limited to just one lane until around 9 to 10 p.m. tonight. Alternative routes are advised.

The leak occurred when a private contractor working on new home construction inadvertently punctured a gas main at Northeast 49th Place. The leak was located next to the Parkway just south of the city's border with Redmond.
