Thunderstorm Friday afternoon could cause minor flooding

A flood advisory from the National Weather Service (see below) indicates that a thunderstorm could cause "urban and small stream flooding" Friday afternoon in several Puget Sound region cities, including Sammamish. The advisory asks drivers to not drive through water-covered roadways. Please use caution.

THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN
THE ADVISORY AREA. UP TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAVE ALREADY FALLEN IN
SOME LOCATIONS.

VALLEY...COVINGTON AND BONNEY LAKE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED...OR
PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES.

AWAY.
